Literally the last hotel available, so booked knowing it wasn't going to be great. Arrived and reception gave us key, but no other info like Check out etc.

Room was so basic, no hairdryer or tea/coffee facility. One pillow each and so thin. One towel each, which were dirty.

The bathroom stunk of damp. The weirdest, smallest packet of shampoo!

Shower head hanging off and can only have cold or scorching hot shower.

Was good for 15 minute stroll to Ally Pally, but sadly that is the only positive.

Other people mention breakfast, this wasn't an option, and sounds like we didn't miss anything

Don't think it would pass a H&S check

We arrived and peered through the hatch at the male receptionist.  After much fumbling we had our key and went to the room.
The room clearly hadn’t been serviced, full bins grubby bed.
Went back to reception, got another key.
The second room was filthier than the first.
Wife says, “Wait there, I don’t want you ripping the receptionists head off and stamping on it”.
Wife returns from reception with THIRD key.
Opened door to find a narrow room with metal bunk beds, one up, and one down.
Wife goes back to reception after restraining me on the landing.
Comes back with FOURTH key.
Room okay but with hole in ceiling…

I don’t really get all the bad reviews about  this hotel. It’s super cheap, with parking and a full English breakfast for 50 quid in Muswell hill is unreal. I stayed her for the masters snooker as  Alexandra palace is a 15 minute walk away 
The staff here were so friendly and welcoming, the lady who greeted me in the afternoon and the gentleman in the evening were lovely. And the breakfast waitress and cook were also really friendly an chatty and the breakfast was of good quality. Yes the hotel is a bit dated and tired and it’s a warren of corridors, (it tests your sense of direction! but my room was spotlessly clean, with a walk in shower and sink, and a separate toilet down the corridor. If your looking for super value and don’t expect the ritz, you really can’t go wrong. If I go to ally pally again I will be staying here without doubt! 

Amazing value 

We flew to the Darts World Cup, and since the hotel is a short walk from Alexandra Palace, we chose it. It's like, since we didn't have any requirements, we weren't disappointed either. It's enough to sleep every time, just when you've had a long night on the balcony. The reception is nice, no question, but the rest is partly worth improving. No matter if it has 2 stars, the cleanliness should still be acceptable, and that's just the way it was. The shower didn't work properly either. The National Hotel is like a painting hotel.

Ally Pally 2019

A good clean would be useful.The coldest night of the year but minimal heating.Breakfast included ha ha cereal and brown or white sliced bread is called a continental breakfast I don't think so. It's cheap in everyway

The Hotel did the job because we were close to ally pally which is where we needed to be. it was dirty. there was a yellow drip stain on the wall next to the bed and a massive sticky stain on the table. The light switch was nearly hanging off the wall. Staff were fine not really friendly but not rude. the walls are so thin you can hear everyone’s conversations. When I walked up the stairs they felt so fragile. The whole place needs redecorating as it’s very outdated and dirty. The bed was clean which was good but not very comfy and only 1 pillow each. The curtains didn’t block out the light. The whole room just felt quite dirty like it needed a good clean. There were people shouting in the hallways at 1am. The shower made a very loud noise. I probably wouldn’t stay here again for £86 :/

Quite Dirty

Chosen as was the cheapest available in the area we needed to be. Staff were lovely people, the hotel is a bit of a warren of corridors. But of a “funky” smell hung about but the rooms appeared clean enough and the beds were fairly comfy. All in all it was as expected but I wasn’t expecting that much, so it did as it was supposed to. Functional rather than fun.

Not bad, not good.

No lift, many stairs, budget room miles from toilets, filthy carpets, missing lightbulbs, milk in rooms vile,smelling of rancid fat so makes tea in room undrinkable. Mattress very soft (with wear ) clean sheets, did not dare look underneath them . Dirty Filthy, deeply ingrained dirt everywhere. There will always be enough of us poor consumers to keep this ghastly place going as the remaining accommodation in Muswell Hill is extortionate.

Accommodation of last resort.

Not many hotels to choose from that are close to the office and with the car and London traffic!
This hotel is as bad as you can get though!!! Overpriced and smells badly! The pictures included aren’t the hotel - no idea where they came from but my recent stay has paved the way to Travelodge as my only option! 
Clean the damn rooms and change the fragrance - the rooms stink!!!

Shocking

The room was spacious on the 2nd floor without an elevator for a family. The bedding was good. The bathroom in our room was simple but convenient. The English breakfast was excellent. A big thank you to the cook for her extreme kindness! A boiler room with the necessities was available in the room.
