El Hostal is super well located, clean, comfortable and the owners are very friendly and friendly, but we left the car in the parking lot of the bus station, as I had read in some reviews that it was economical (about 5 €/day) and the surprise was a day and a half 44 €😅. Maybe I should have asked first. We will definitely come back!...but we will look for another parking lot  ♀️

A lovely experience.

The first impression was not great because the manager that attended us was not wearing a mask to comply with Covid-19 safety measures. However, she was very nice, laid-back and helped us change rooms from a twin to a triple room without charging any price difference. The room -with ensuite bathroom- was clean, basic but had air-conditioning and a flat TV. 

The hostel was located in the heart of Olot and close to many bars, restaurants and the bus station. Although our room was almost facing the main square, it was very quiet at night to sleep. 

There is an elevator and a bar/restaurant on the main floor. In our opinion, we would have expected much more for the price we paid (like an included breakfast or nicer furniture), so we might probably stay in another place if we ever have the opportunity to visit Olot again.

A humble experience

A small hotel / hostel in a small town.single room that I stopped by for 1 night.

 - I stayed at the most basic single room. It was small, but that was expected from the cheap price. My only problem was that the shower water did not get very warm.

 - The location is very close from the bus station and the main squares of the town. But I had to walk around the block to find the building. Although I had a reservation, the entrance was closed and lights were turned off inside. I had to beep at the door to have somebody come out from the back. I guess this was because of coming on a Sunday during a low season?

 - I also had a somewhat hard time checking in at the reception. The old owner does not speak English although the hotel is on English booking websites. He has an eyesight problem, so I couldn't tell whether he's looking at me or other people... also continued talking to local people who came by, while I waited for him to complete my registration. I understand that these are not a big deal in a small town, where I shouldn't be expecting the hustle & efficiency of big city hotels' receptions. Anyway, I just want to inform my readers. 

I wondered what rating score I should put on Trip Advisor.. Wanted to give 3 since it's a small, inexpensive local business after all... But I'll go with 2 as the most objective score.

A cheap stay in a small town

This hostel is very well located, in the Plaza Mayor, in the center of Olot. It is ideal for spending a few days, and visiting Olot and its surroundings. It is very good for the price you charge, the breakfast is correct, as well as the dinner that we also had hired. To highlight the treatment of the owner, Montse, for her kindness and sympathy, for the information that facilitated us, and someday to adapt to our dinner schedule.

We were in this hostel, without much pretence, but fine.In the center of Olot, almost everything, we were a group and the truth is that we thought we would come back and stay here.The girl who takes it Montse, was very nice, friendly and helpful, all the information we asked for upon arrival, we gave it, and if any time was not known, he made it possible through his computer to look for it, which is very well.

Not bad for the situation and the price.

We went to spend a weekend and the quality of the service offered was adequate, the room was not bad and the bed was comfortable, we thought we would be cool in the bathroom for other opinions but it was well warmed.

Quality price well 

One night you can spend it but I wouldn't recommend it for more. The reception area is cold. It was Olot's holidays and we were charged 90 euros for the room. Breakfast was not included, it costs 6 euros per person. It's not worth it because it's in the center and there's a lot of variety around. You can't park nearby. Regarding cleanliness nothing to say, right. Much noise from the outside.

We booked a room for 3 adults, and on the treatment level they were pleasant as they allowed us to make some changes, but the room left a lot to be desired.When we arrived, you could see the sheets with large patches, the bathroom a disaster and the curtain of the dirty and unclosed shower.....On the other hand, while it is in good condition, you have to go far enough to park, as it is not accessible by car, so if the visits you are going to make sound outside the town centre, it is also not very comfortable.

Good situation, poor service

We ordered a double room and it was a single room with a slightly larger bed and only one towel.The sheets were full of hair, everything very dirty, even the walls, and we didn't even get the disgust that it gave us.To sleep we had to get the light out because of the noise of the switch.It was the second time we came, the first was correct, but after this experience we won't be coming back.

Never again.

We stayed four nights in the hostel and we didn't have any complaints, the room with a double bed and another individual bed for the child, we had a sofa and a double closet. The bathroom was not too much but it was also not missing, there was a small bathroom, the gentleman who waited for us at the entrance, almost at two in the morning, very kind and warned us that in order for the hot water to come out we had to wait a little. We charged in advance on arrival, which we understood later, as during the day we are not used to staying. You are given a card with which you are free to enter and to go whatever you want and the last day you leave. Breakfast is not included, 6€, you have croissant, Elunadas, juice, fruit, yogurt... We love the full price, we love the full price that is right.
