The apartment looked very different to the pictures, in that it simply was not clean. The carpets, the cutlery, the pots and pans, everything. It was nice to have these things, but we had to wash everything before use and could do nothing about the smoke stains and smells.

The shower wasn't clean, the towels small and old.

It was advertised as bed and breakfast, but there was no breakfast, also no toiletries as advertised.

We paid a high price, for apparently luxury accommodation, but it was not!

I would not recommend staying here. The location was good, but there are many other choices nearby.

Expensive and not clean, but good location

A classic old house from the last century, located on a quiet street near a beautiful park, 15 minutes' walk to the center, but it is recommended to move around by bike - as all the city residents do. With bike paths there are no problems - they are more than roads for cars. The house is infinitely cozy, everything is thought out to the smallest, you feel at home. The hostess is a lovely wordy Agnes, treated me like a native and didn't know what else to cook. Next time I will come to her house!

The charm of an old house

We stayed at Agnes's Bed and Breakfast for one week but we wished we could have stayed longer. It was a very pleasant experience. Both the enormous apartment and the neighbourhood are nice and cosy, and Agnes is an easygoing, considerate, very helpful and welcoming host. She'll provide you with everything you need. When we left her place she even gave us a ride to a new address and lent us her bikes for the rest of our stay in Utrecht for free! While staying at her place it's really recommended to take advantage of the possibility to explore the city by the bicycles she offers. Cycling is a very Dutch way of moving around. The neighbourhood is peaceful and safe - ideal for extempore rides even after sundown. On the way you'll see how the locals live; from typical townhouses to homes built in a church, and enjoy the beauty and relaxed atmosphere of the nearby Wilhelminapark. The medieval centre can be reached in less than 10 minutes. When it comes to bicycles Agnes is an expert on fixing them. She'll make sure her guests get the vehicle that best fits them. If you're planning to visit Utrecht, consider booking a few nights or more at Agnes's Maurits Apartment. I think the whole apartment must be about 70 m2 with private bathroom and kitchen. Believe me It is worth it!

If I was able, i would have rated this as " fair" instead of poor.  The apartment was not as advertised   The bathroom is listed as "private" - but note that you have to leave the apartment and go in to the hallway to use it.  There was a strong smell of cigarettes thoughout  which, as a non-smoker was not appreciated   The neighborhood is nice and the free use of bikes was nice and the owner is pleasant  There is a little tiny kitchen just a mini fridge and a microwave   The sink had old food in it    The apartment was not dirty per se, but you would not call it really clean either   A Disappointment but not the worse place in the world   It is quite large and roomy  I would caution renters to be aware of these issues

Smells like cigarette smoke, bathroom is NOT in the apartment

This apartment was so comfortable and very beautiful, it has a great feel, we were very happy here, and it is in a marvellous area, close to parks and greenery. We loved walking to and from in this neighbourhood, and we had use of bicycles so at night we explored the whole city by bike. Our hostess, Agnes was helpful and friendly and gave us tips about the city. It is so tranquil and quiet but not far from lively restaurants, cafes and bars.

Elegant and warm, home away from home

We can recommend this apparment, the woman who ownes the apartment is very friendly and is willing to help you with everything. The apartment is central located and in a very nice area, nearby a beautiful park with some nice restaurants. the accomodation is done with great taste.
And everything is in the appartment, such as a washing machine and full kitchen.

pleasant time in Utrecht

Unfortunately, our apartment on the ground floor was uncomfortable. The room was cold, smelled of smoke, undefinable rumors, cleanliness left to be desired, all we took into our hands was sticky (kitchen) in the shower it smelled like sewer so we had to use vinegar to clear the smell first.

Price/performance is not correct

We were there for the third time and always felt very comfortable and relaxed in one of the beautiful and stylishly decorated apartments. Agnes took good care of us, breakfast was delicious. The fridge is always well filled with drinks anyway. With the wheels of the house we explored the city. The Mauritsstraat itself is a very quiet Dutch picture book street and is close to Wilheminapark and the center. Very recommended!!!

It's wonderful!

A nice location on the outskirts of downtown, very close to the park and there are good restaurants around. The apartment is large and beautiful and cozy. Agnes is a very kind woman who really cares about you.
